I don't think it was fixed. The one time the ref stood them up Thompson had the advantage but nothing was really happening. And at the end of the Second round All the stuff Thompson was landing didn't seem to be all that damaging and Kimbo just looked to be resting and waiting the round out. As far as stopping it in the third round it may have been a hair quick bugt Thompson was out of it and still looked to be out of it 3-4min later so he would have been knocked out cold IMO within the next 20sec anyway.
Thats just one mans view though and I completely understand why people will disect anything questionable with all the hype on Kimbo its obviously best for MMA if he continues to win and improve.

I don't think it was fixed. All the fights were called a little earlier than they should have been...probably due to the fact that CBS didn't want too much blood and guts (especially with the woman that was getting knocked around.)
I've heard some Kimbo haters say the ref should have called the fight in the 2nd round when Thompson was on top of Kimbo. The ref asked Kimbo twice during the match if he was good and he quickly gave the thumbs up. The one time when he was in a choke and the 2nd time in the 2nd round when he was down. The ref also told em to start defending (bc Kimbo was just absorbing those weak blows no problem) and he put his hand up and started blocking them. Kimbo was tired but in no way were those shots doing anything to him...he didn't even have a scratch on him after the match.
I myself am hoping Kimbo can continue to win and eventually start fighting more skilled fighters. People are critiquing him way more than they should be imo. He barely has any professional fighting experience and many are already calling him out for fighting tomato cans. You're not going to expect a high school blue chipper to go out and run the Colts offense. He may be too old but people aren't giving him time. He's still got a lot to learn before he takes on any of the best.

He's still got a lot to learn before he takes on any of the best. He said himself after the fight that he has a long way to go and a lot to learn. But, like I said, he's learning from the best. If anyone can teach him and teach him quickly, it's Bas Rutten. As for the stoppages, I don't see how the fight gets stopped in the 2nd round because Thompson was more pawing at him than hitting him with anything damaging. When it was stopped in the 3rd you could see that Thompson had no clue where he was. No doubt in my mind that he would've been knocked out cold within 10 seconds if the fight hadn't been stopped. With the stoppage in the Carano/Young and Lawler/Smith fights, both fighters told the doctors they couldn't see. The fight will be stopped 100% of the time in that scenario. Smith may have been saying that he'd be able to see in 5 minutes but the fact remains that he said he couldn't see at the moment and that's all the Dr. cares about.
