Well it will be interesting to see who replaces him. I would hope that its someone with ties to the old school BE and not one of the newer schools.

This sucks for the BE, he was the glue that held this conference together. I wonder who's next in line?

I have to think that if there is a time to step down now would be the perfect time to bring someone else in. The league has surpassed where it was when the former schools were here. The Big East is one of the premier leagues in college and whoever takes over will have to do an awful job to screw things up.

I recommend Basketball Warfare: Life In The Big East Conference' by Kevin McNamara if you want some information on how hard Tranghese has worked for the conference. By only complaint with him is that it seems like he is one of the people holding back any kind of tournament or +1 format from iA college football.
