A few things here ... first, I don't dislike Tiger, I actually quite admire his toughness and tenacity as a competitor. I also like Goosen's swing the best of all of 'em out there, and have also observed him to be a dignified competitor. Let's remember his comments were in response to a question, and it's not like he stood up and announced it to the world.
Second, I found myself noticing the same things Goosen mentioned: the wince only on bad shots, and his apparent complete ease of movement while dropping to his knees on near-miss putts.
Once again, I'm not saying he was faking, I'm just saying I also noticed.
I'm also wondering if there isn't a little resentment among other players over the media's unabashed "Tiger this, Tiger that," to the point where the rest are almost treated like they're nuisances. It's like they think the sun doesn't shine until he gets up. And I'll bet it's true especially true among the foreign players.

I think Tiger is certainly a bit of a Drama Queen, no doubt about it. Part of the reason he is like that though is because he is way into it when he golfs. Still Goosen should know better than to say what he said even if he was 100% certain he was correct. It doesn't reflect well on Goosen wether he is right or wrong and all these guys should steer away from any kind of possible negative stuff toward other players.

What was the big tourney Goosen played in the final pairing with Jason Gore,Goosen shot about 80 in the final paring. Tiger winced in pain when some shots were stiff, and not even watching when the 5 wood hit the green dead nuts. Come on!!! Only a few fools on the tour say Tiger is not the best ever.

Tiger is certainly a drama queen?????????? He doesn't talk to anyone but Steve while playing, doesn't interact with the crowd !!!!!! But he does when he makes 70 foot putts with ease, what should he do,just stand there???? He even said that he was able to walk and run no problem when he made a great putt because of the energy drawn from the crowd after making a great putt !!!!!!!!!!!

Come on man,I am a Tiger homer, don't bait me. Try reading some new up to date articles you guys,he was supposed to be on crutches for 3 weeks before the Memorial. Here are a few articles, even the goof Goosen retracted his stupid comment>>> www.sportsline.com/golf/story/10870177www.sportsline.com/golf/story/10870079

Fair enough, jordoo, it probably would have been better to say something like, "Why don't you ask Tiger that question?" On the other hand, I appreciate his honesty. I've grown tired of all the canned, "I just try to my job," politically correct responses that mean nothing.

I'm not really a Tiger fan or hater. He's going to be the best golfer ever in most peoples eyes, but its hard to say since he plays in a different era than some of the other older greats. There have been changes to the game so its hard to compare on an equal level.
The first point I would make is that all of the other players need Tiger more than he needs them. They won't get paid unless he gets paid. Any other player besides Tiger(maybe Phil) is not the main attraction, Tiger is. They really shouldn't insult him too much.
At the same time, I can understand Goosens point of view. The media(not Tiger) makes it seem like he is playing basically without a leg. If he was able to play well over the week that he was there, he really couldn't have been too unable to compete. I know he is injured, and it is pretty bad, but it just doesn't seem like it was affecting his play too much. I think its just the media blowing it out of proportion.

LOL read the articles below, not to mention the fact he had not played in a few months. Even if he was healthy, how do you explain that he didn't practice or play on the tour before the Open??? As far as a different era, ever see the swings of the old time players??? Their heels lift up on the front foot, just too funny !!!! No matter the era they all use the same equiptment, the equiptment is better now but all players have it. They even tried to Tiger proof courses,to noooooo avail. As the articles say "the electric guitar was around before Jimi Hendrix, but Jimi changed the rules."

I've said this before, but here it is again.
Best ever is basically Jack, Tiger, Hogan, Jones, Hagen in that order and you could flip flop Jones and Hagen. No one else is really even remotely in the conversation. Jones was never a pro and retired early, interesting character who maybe would have been the best ever if he wanted to, but he himself prevented it from ever happening. Hogan's career was shortened by injury and his feat of coming back and winning the Open after being crippled by a car accident far exceeds tigers wounded knee Open. But looking at career numbers Tiger has much better ones than Ben. Hagen I beleive had 7 majors and was a great player for his area but doesn't really stack up against the others. Tiger will not be the best ever until he passes Jack in majors. Until then respect to those who came before him and the guy at the top. Tiger will pass Jack unless some crazy David Duval thing happens to Tiger. When he does I won't argue that he is the best ever (and he will)! What Goosen said was dumb but at the same time like like Cow points out all you hear on golf broadcasts is Tiger, Tiger, Tiger and the other players probably get tired of it, but guess what he is pulling the cart that is the PGA tour these days so they should be smart enough to figure out that they get more for 5th place than they used to get to win pre Tiger.
PS, Dugga, Tiger is a drama queen on the course. He is smart enough not to say and get involved in stupid stuff off the course. Just watch him and his dramatizations of both misses and makes.

I'll agree with that. Tiger is definitely a drama queen on the course, this coming from a big Tiger fan. He lets his emotions loose on the course reacting to his play, but then will address the next shot with that cool collected demeanor, which is what I think I like about it.
