I hate to sell it but would like to buy another one,it is not easy selling a Corvette I love, but time to get a newer one.
It is a 1982,last year of a model, there is no such thing as a 1983 Corvette, they waited till the 1984 came out that I feel is horrible(looks like a Firebird or Camaro, not that there is anything wrong with those 2 cars). It has 80,000 miles and is 26 years old, those miles are VERY real. It is red on red and only 1800 of those were made,so how many can be left in the world,900 at most???
It is all power and it was the first Corvette to cost over $20,000,also the first Corvette to have a computer running the car. Tires are close to new and $200 apiece. It has the chrome mirrored T-tops with a smoked inside as you look up. Original paint and not faded that much, once waxed it looks brand new.
Interior is fine except the driver seat is a little bit worn so I put seat covers on both seats that are leather, passenger seat is fine but decided to put seat covers on both so they would match. All numbers match through out the car also. Put in a new cam only like 500 miles ago and due to being a young guy back in 1988 was doing too many hole shots and therefore put in a new trany which has only 30,000 easy miles on the trany,it has been stored for many years on and off since then due to reoccuring back problems so I didn't drive it very much. There are many other great features to the car but too much to list. The car is loaded from point of purchase,it is not the 1982 Special Edition that is an ugly two tone, this car looks much better than the SE.
Book value on a Corvette is not the same as other cars. Each Corvette is special in it's own right so book value goes out the window when it comes to a 26 year old car. I am asking $9000 and that is just about firm,a completely redone 1982 is going for $15,000 plus, mostly due to how far a person goes with a new paint job and new interior. This car has the original paint and interior which is just fine. Always stored 6 months a year in a heated place. I hate to sell it but I have a bunch of other cars(Lincoln Towncar and a Saab 900 Turbo) and I would love to keep this Corvette and buy a new one too,it is just not practical. I kind of hope no one buys this 1982 Corvette, that is how much I love it !!!!!!!!! OK well there is more info on it but this post is wayyyyyy too long already.
If interested get a hold of me through a PM or e-mail at syrbbno1@aol.com ,thanks Dugga.
