Wasn't that one here like 4 years ago bigger? Like a 6.1 or something? And we aren't near a plate boundry.

I remember the one up in the area of Old Forge around 1980(I am guessing on the year) but I was in Utica at the time and got home HAMMERED at around 3am. Then at like around 6am I was falling out of my bed and the walls were moving and shit falling(thought I was tripping lol)but that was crazy and I was 70 miles or so away. Our whole house was moving for about 15 seconds and then it was over but I was like WHAT,then I went back to bed cuz I was burnt from the night before lol !!!!!!!! Found out later in the day what really happened happened.

Yeah the Blue Mountain and Plattsburg one were both about 5.2 one was 10/7/83(the one I remember) and the other was in 2002. Here is the 10/7/83 WTVH news about it>>>> www.youtube.com/watch?v=RB_2P-Vzp7o

There are several huge fault lines that run through various parts of NY, but since the state was once underwater the soil is mostly sand, which dissipates most of the threat of a major earthquake
