The lager is decent but they went way over the top with the winter one. Too much spice in that.

The Harpoon Lager I liked. Had a few in Cape Cod. Could have been the ambience, though ... Nah, the Harpoon lager is solid, but the winter syrup they have is a bit off...

I went out to the best brewery in Tempe last night called Four Peaks (vt was the first person to tell me about this place). We had a few pitchers of 8th street Ale. Good stuff, a rich ale with lots of hoppy flavor. Their other good beer is called Kiltlifter, which is a name a love.
We also had another one of their award winning beers, Hop Knot IPA. Personally, I thought it was too hoppy. I felt like I was drinking a plant. My buddy thought it smelled like marijuana, but that's another story.

It's funny that you all are talking about Magic Hat. They are the closest brewery to me (not including a small brew pub), but I don't really care for their stuff. I'm much more likely to be found enjoying an Otter Creek, Long Trail, or a Trout River.
But speaking of beer, this week I enjoyed a 6 pack of Hook & Ladder Brewing Co. Backdraft Brown. Decent beer. Reminded me more of a porter than a typical brown - very dark and a little smoky but the hops were good. Cascade hops - absolutely my favorite. Anyone who has enjoyed a beer from out west will understand that.

Beer, it doesn't matter w/ the first one, as long as it's cold. Feed me Heinies after that, maam.

Here you go, laddie bucks. Brewed right here in beautiful, downtown cowtown. Gonna try a box of the XO (it's fairly new) tonight. www.bigrockbeer.com/

VT, I got a long trail winter survival pack recently. It was fantastic, specifically the Hibernator. I had had the regular Ale before while watching a minor league baseball game in Conn. and remembered liking it. Now I want some more Hibernator!

Tried a Southern Tier Gemini at the Blue Tusk this past week....highly recommended Might have to try that this weekend. I grabbed a 6'er of Saranac Black Diamond Bock. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a nice full thick beer. Real strong malty taste, not a bad finish. Overall quite solid.
