I had the Apt 12 60th Anniversary recently... pretty much had the same reaction Glad I'm not the only one, now I know why the Monks always look so happy on there bottles. I can't remember for sure what you've said you've tried along the line of Abbey/Trappist Ales, but if you liked that I'd highly suggest doing some exploring.

Eldiablo, They are very new to me its basically been Chimay Red & Blue, Omegang Three Philosiphers and the Apt 12. If you asked me a couple months ago I'd have told you Double/Imperial IPA's were my favorite style but the tide is turning to Belgian Ales of late. Only had a few but I the Apt 12 actually made me consider becoming a monk as long as I could drink it every day. LOL. Seriously though they will be my focus in my next few beer buying trips. Right now I have a few decent american belgian style beers waiting to be tasted: Allagash Tripel Reserve Allagash Dubbel Reserve Victory V-12 Victory V-Saison Smuttynose Saison Wayerbacher Blasphemy I realize that none of these are trapist or abbey ales but they should keep me occupied until I hit the store again.

Literally every beer I've ever tried from Allagash has been phenomemal, so you can't go wrong with anything from them. If you're looking for some true Trappist/Abbey Ales in the future, I'd recommend Maredsous, Westmalle, Rochefort and Koningshoeven... Brasserie d'Achouffe is excellent as well, particularly the Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel

Anyone going to Brew at the Zoo? I will give a review of many beers (everyone they have) following. This will likely not take place for days however as I need time to recover.
Be there or be square. Despite what Huey Lewis says it is not Hip to be Square either.
