Morello pulled off a sound that no one has since been able to successfully pull off, and completely innovated the way I look at music. The man is a genius. I in all honesty put him up there with Hendrix/Page/King/SRV/Johnson/Allman etc. (don't give me the Eddie shit) for what he's been able to bring to the table as far as revolutionary thought to what was becoming a stale genre.

Because of all the RATM talk combined with the fact that that I just had my Tennis conference tournament, I feel the need to place my Tennis warm-up I listen too before a match. Here's what's on the Ipod...
Calm Before the Storm- Fallout Boy Don't Fear The Reaper- Blue Oyster Cult Dragon Force-Through Fire and Flames Gimme Shelter-Rolling Stones Sweet Child O' Mine- Guns N' Roses Killing in the name of- RATM Guerilla Radio- RATM Little Black Backpack- Stroke 9 Ten Speed of God's Blood-Coheed and Cambria Welcome Home-Coheed and Cambria
It's a good playlist for getting the blood pumping a bit. It helped me this weekend so OBVIOUSLY it works.

I was a little disappointed with their latest release, but their earlier stuff is nothing short of brilliant

Hell's Bells always worked for me If I planned on being intense - anything from Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power did the trick. Dimebag Darryl RIP, another quality axeman.

Phenomenal album... and quality axeman doesn't even begin to describe Dimebag. He's easily the most underrated guitarist of the last 20-30 years and his influence on the way guitar is now played will live on for years

Hell's Bells always worked for me If I planned on being intense - anything from Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power did the trick. Dimebag Darryl RIP, another quality axeman. My old pregame for football was always as follows, I used it during the field walkdown every game, never an exception: Metallica - One Korn - Blind Pantera - Walk Sepultura - Refuse/Resist Rage Against the Machine - Know Your Enemy Now if that list won't get the blood going, tell me what will... Phenomenal album... and quality axeman doesn't even begin to describe Dimebag. He's easily the most underrated guitarist of the last 20-30 years and his influence on the way guitar is now played will live on for years Dimebag was a hell of a guitarist, and like you said very influential. I think he had the most influence on modern metal as far as things go. Definitely underrated, and I would put him highly up on my second tier, behind those mentioned earlier.

Back when I could pallatte listening to these guys this was one of their best. That CD is still a solid overall disk, but I can't stand anything they've put out since. I guess that CD is my poppy guilty pleasure.
Needs more cowbell. That is all.
DragonForce can flat out shred. Not a huge fan of the music overall, but damn the man can cut a fretboard like few others.
Is this the Guitar Hero III Set-list that you have on your playlist?
I've never really had any love for GNR but some people absolutely adore them. I think its just Axl's vocals that get me. He's like a whinier, more angst ridden Robert Plant
Thanks for bringing this song up, haven't heard it in ages.

Much like Diablo I loved Coheeds early stuff, but their recent stuff has its merits as well. I can actually say that when I first heard them that I wholeheartedly believed they had a female lead vocalist.

I can actually say that when I first heard them that I wholeheartedly believed they had a female lead vocalist. I think the first song I heard from them was The Suffering, which is probably the girliest that Claudio has ever sounded. Once I dug a little deeper into their repertoire it became clearer that he's a dude... and a dude with quite possibly the coolest hair on the planet, to boot... lol But yeah, I'm much more of a fan of their work on Second Stage Turbine Blade and In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth than I am of anything on Good Apollo or No World for Tomorrow... but the latter albums are still damn good. And speaking of shredding... the back and forth guitar work of Claudio and Travis on Welcome Home is fantastic

I agree with your statements on the money. When Fallout Boy and Coheed first came out, they're sound was amazing. Ever since, i'm not a fan. They've conformed to the public (trying to please the teen girls) atleast that's the case for FOB. I forgot about Pantera too. I am not a diehard fan but they are great to listen to whe your playing a sporting event. anyone ever hear of Children of Bodom? My best friend plays in a hardcore metal band so I get the full aray of music taste. COB isn't that bad.
