I mainly stock up on Hoffmans. I'm an Oswego native so the other thing I get when in the area is a few pounds of each the hot and mild Garafalos Italian Sausage and a couple loves of there bread as well since the bakeries suck around here. Dinasour BBQ is also of course a must stop!! According to their website, the Wegmans in Hunt Valley MD as well as the new one here in Mechanicsburg (Harrisburg on their website) stock Hofmann and Gianelli products in the deli and frozen meats sections respectively. However, they do not appear to stock Garafalos products.

i always make a stop at mario and salvos when i am up there. just found a meat shop in atl that carries hoffman hot dogs and conies. the butcher said that any shipment is gone as soon as he gets it. everytime i went home while i was still in school i had to bring home loaves of columbus bread and lbs and lbs of gianelli. it was so annoying driving all over the city always hungover before my flights mmm Mario and Salvos. I live right near there. Great pizza and calzones.

Wow! Just noticed there's more posts in General Discussion than there is for Football. Its very sad that most of get more excited about our favorite calzone than our favorite college football team. Something HAS to give, doesn't it???

Good thread, biggest thing I miss from home is the food! BTW, for all you spiedie sauce fans, ditch that NYS Fair stuff and get the original, Lupo's Spiedie Sauce.. It's way better. You can get it anywhere in Binghamton and a few places in Syr, I always got mine at the butcher shop in L'pool called "Mazzeye's Meat Market". Good tip for the day, marinate a pork tenderloin in lupos over night then grill 6 min a side (4), it will come out perfect, don't overcook though Here's a link for Salamida's sauce as well (my CNY buddy's grilling sauce of choice): www.spiedie.com/

Well thanks to one special lady from PA, I will be enjoying some Hofmann's at my 4th of July cook out! I have Hofmanns too...My parents brought me a 5lb bag when I saw them in Cleveland 2 weeks ago. I cant wait. The fools down here dont know what they are in for. I got lectured how "Hebrew National" were the best hot dogs on earth and how dare I say any different. Guess what? Im bringing the best ones and they are from Syracuse!!!!
