Well thanks to one special lady from PA, I will be enjoying some Hofmann's at my 4th of July cook out! What about Zweigles hot dogs out of Rochester,ny?? Hoffmans are very good but Zweigles are maybe better, thoughts??? www.zweigles.com/Well Dugga that is or was an old family arguement for us. My Dad grew up in Rochester but prefers Hofmann's as do I. But my Gramps (RIP) was a straight Zweigles guy. I would eat both at the cook out but Dad and Gramps had to make a point and only eat ther favorite while talking it up constantly. ANyway Zweigles makes some killer dogs no doubt about it.

And the dogs are $10 a pound !!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>> www.allenbrothers.com/

The thing I like about both Hofmanns and Zweigles is that they have very distinct recognizable flavors and look for the most part. I wonder if Wegmans sells Zweigles too, that would be nice.
Never heard of allenbrothers before but that stuff looks good.

OH yeah Weggies sells Zweigles big time, but now I need to look for Hoffmans at Weggies, not sure why I have passed them over in the last few years !!. PS. Here is the trick to awesome hotdogs...soak them in water for 30 minutes before you throw them on the grill, they will be so nice and juicy this way !!!

I just did a reconnaissance mission to the Mechanicsburg Wegmans. Wow is that place HUGE! Anyway, I found the Hofmann dogs and snappies in the deli area. They were not with the other hotdogs but were in a vertical case marked "short cuts" next to one of the gazillion deli counters.

Word to the wise: Don't even bother with the regular dogs, only get the "snappies" or "coney's" as their more commenly referred to. These are the white ones. The only ones!

Or get the Zweigles Whites, pop open white and reds,Texas Reds and Whites, they are at all Weggies !!! They also have sausage too by Zwiegles, although I would not put their sausage up with stuff out of Utica, but they are all worth a try, there are probably 5 different Zweigles dogs!!!

I'm a Zweigle's guy, but could never turn down the real "Hoff." Also, jordoo, confirmed from experience that zweigles are sold at the wegger's.

Wegmans in Hunt Valley had Zweigle's in the dairy section both reds, whites and italian sausage. They had Hoffmans in a couple of special deli cases both the regular and the snappies. They also had Gianelli sausage in the meet case, they must get it in large boxs and portion it out themselves because it in regular meat packaging and priced by the pound.
Anyway heres my hual: 5lbs bag of Hoffmans 3lbs bag of Hoffmans Snappies 4pack of Zweigle's Red 4pack of Zweigle's White 2-4packs of Gianelli Hot It Sausage 2-4packs of Gianelli Sweet It Sausage
Should be a nice 4th cookout!!!!

Just thought I'd mention that my inlaws from PA all wanted to know why the hot dogs and sausage was so good. LOL. The Hoffmans were a big hit and everybody loved them, the Snappies also did rather well had about 10 of them eaten and enjoyed. I never got to the Zweigle's so I'll be enjoying them next week on vacation. Oh and the Gianelli was a hit as they kept saying "I dodn't like Italian Sausage, this is great what kind of sausage is it?" Anyway all the Italian sausage here tastes like crap so people eat polish stuff which is decent here. I thought the Gianelli was OK, not great and even the hot seemed mild to me, but it did have an authentic Italian flavor and is light years better than anything else here in bland PA.
